Awesome book and incredible series! Paula Altenburg is a brilliant writer and I can't say I have ever read a series quite like this one before. I loved the characters and the story makes you sit on the edge of your seat wanting more. I didn't enjoy this second book quite as much as the first but I still loved blade's story as he was a favourite of mine from the first book.
Blade has decided it was time to leave Freetown behind after the demon wars and has been on the road ever since going from town to town. When he walks into the dusty town of Goldrush he gets a little more then he bargained for. When he sees the beautiful Raven in Trouble he isn't sure why but knows he must help her somehow.
Raven has had to suffer a life of abuse at the hands of her stepfather her whole life, but this is the very last straw, for his cruel ways are going to get her secrets found out by all. Standing accused of being spawn she is going to face the stake and when she doesn't burn in fire they will all know her secret, that her mother lay with a demon.
Together they go on a journey that leads them into the godseeker mountains in search of Raven's friend Creed and the Godseeker Assasions, But Raven's Stepfather is on their trail and will stop at nothing to make sure that Raven is exposed and killed for the demon spawn she is.
Will Blade fall back into the life he’s trying so hard to escape? for a woman he hardly knows? and will he only ever see her for the demon spawn and not the woman that she she is?
