BLURB

Nothing can stop Raine Cooper when she wants something…

Raine finally knows that her gorgeous neighbor, Torin St. James, is a legend straight out of Norse mythology, and that her feelings for him are strong. Torin is crazy about Raine too, breaking the one rule he lives by: Never fall for a mortal. The problem is he no longer remembers her, his memories erased by Norns—Norse destiny deities—to punish her for defying them.

She will make Torin forget his one rule a second time and fall in love with her all over again.
But she quickly learns that well-laid plans do not work when dealing with deities and supernatural beings. Desperate, Raine makes choices that could not only tear her and Torin further apart, but lead to the destruction of everything and everyone she loves.

EXCERPT

“Do you want to meet her?” Cora asked.

Heck no! “No, thanks.”

“She’s really nice. The superhot guy with black hair is the new QB. His name is Torin St. James.”

Torin’s presence on the team meant some football player was about to get a one-way ticket to Valhalla. Somehow, I couldn’t bring myself to care. I had my own demons to deal with.

“What happened to Blaine Chapman?”

“His family suddenly moved. Totally weird.” Cora shrugged, her focus shifting to the Torin’s group. “The silver-haired guy is Andris. I think he’s gay or something because even the hottest cheerleaders don’t interest him. The blonde is a cheerleader. Her name is Ingrid.”

Andris gay? Very unlikely. He was probably pining for his ex-girlfriend, Maliina, who’d gone rogue and joined evil Norns after she nearly killed me. Good riddance. I didn’t hear the rest of Cora’s words, my focus shifting to Eirik.

He strolled toward us, intelligent amber eyes twinkling. He looked different, his face more chiseled. It was as though he’d undergone some kind of transformation while I was gone. His usually long dirty blond locks were gone. Shorter hair surprisingly suited him.

Eirik and I went way back to when we were kids and played in our joining backyards. He was my best friend and knew me better than anyone.

“I love your new cut,” I said in greeting, reaching up to run my fingers through his hair.

“I love your tan, stranger,” he quipped. We hugged. “We thought you’d only be gone for a week.”

“Blame my mother.” I’d forgotten how comforting his hugs were. Suddenly, I was back to the place I’d been during summer, needing him. Eirik had always been there for me. When my dad’s airplane went down and we thought he’d died, Eirik was the first one I’d told. When I started learning about Valkyries and my connection to them, I’d leaned on him to keep sane. Even when Torin disappeared and I thought I’d never seen him again, I’d turned to Eirik for comfort, even though he hadn’t known about my feelings for Torin.

My Review

Immortals by Ednah Walters
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! this was the best book EVER! I never wanted it to end! Ednah is a genius when it comes to telling stories and the runes series has quickly become a favourite!

This story picks up pretty much where the last left off with Torin not remembering anything about Raine or the time they spent together and the love they shared but Raine is determined to get him and his memories back. If there is one thing she does know it is that they are meant to be together.

Meanwhile something strange is going on with Eirik he hasn't been himself lately and strange things are starting to happen around him. Are the Norns messing with Eirik? or is it one of the Valkyries? Raine doesn't know who to trust anymore or who to confide in as everyone seems to have an agenda when it comes to her destiny.

Everyone seems to think that she is evil or crazy after the indecent in the pool and she is starting to believe some of the rumors herself. But one thing is for sure...

She isn't going to go down without a fight.

This book was totally and completely amazing! I couldn't put it down from start to finish! Ednah you are a writing genius! I loved that you used my sons name (Tristan) in the book, it made it all the more personal for me so thank you so much for that! you are the best my friend!

Torin St James was as HOT as ever!!!!! WOW I think you can actually see the pages of the book sizzle!...lol...Ednah is a master at writing the sizzle between the character until you can feel it in your toes. It makes you turn the page again and again so you never miss a thing.

Raine of course is kick ass as always. she takes charge and she is her ripe old bossy self..lol...I really love her heart and her courage. She would do anything for her family and friends. I loved all the new things her character got to learn in this book too. Ednah has really out done herself with this book!

The use of the Norse Mythology in this book was outstanding! being a wiccan I love all of the Gods and Goddesses and know most of their stories and Ednah really put them to great use in this book! Norse Mythology isn't used very often anymore so it was nice to see it in this story when we would usually see Greek or Egyptian Myths if any is used.

If you haven't ordered your copy of Immortals then I recommend you do as it is a amazing book and one that you are not going to want to miss reading!
