Fragments by Dan Wells
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Wow this book was really long! I really can't say it was a bad book because it did have parts that griped me and didn't let go, but I can't say it was a great book because there were parts I had to force myself through. I was so excited for this book as the first one was so phenomenal! but this one was just really long! The ending was a total Cliff hanger though and now I so will have to read the next one and hope it is better.

This book was split in two parts on one side we have kira, Samm, Ada and Heron out in search of a cure to save both the partial and the human races. Kira believes that it has to be in the files somewhere at one of the ParaGen offices.

On the other side is Marcus who is caught in the middle of war between the humans that Kira left behind and Dr. Morgan's Partial Army, who happens to be looking for Kira and is looking for the cure for the Partial exasperation date. Will Kira get back in time to save her town? or will she be the reason they all die?

Dan Wells is a great writer and never fails to impress me with the details that he puts into world he creates. I could see it all as I was reading it and it was beautiful in its own horrific way.

Kira Walker has found the cure for RM, but the battle for the survival of humans and Partials is just beginning. Kira has left East Meadow in a desperate search for clues to who she is. That the Partials themselves hold the cure for RM in their blood cannot be a coincidence--it must be part of a larger plan, a plan that involves Kira, a plan that could save both races. Her companions are Afa Demoux, an unhinged drifter and former employee of ParaGen, and Samm and Heron, the Partials who betrayed her and saved her life, the only ones who know her secret. But can she trust them?

Meanwhile, back on Long Island, what's left of humanity is gearing up for war with the Partials, and Marcus knows his only hope is to delay them until Kira returns. But Kira's journey will take her deep into the overgrown wasteland of postapocalyptic America, and Kira and Marcus both will discover that their greatest enemy may be one they didn't even know existed.

The second installment in the pulse-pounding Partials saga is the story of the eleventh hour of humanity's time on Earth, a journey deep into places unknown to discover the means--and even more important, a reason--for our survival.

I haven't heard of this book. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

your welcome! the first book was sooo good! http://wiccawitch4.blogspot.ca/2012/04/partials-by-dan-wells.html#.UYxW7bWG2So I couldn't put it down but this one had long and drawn out parts that I just really seemed to have to drag myself through. overall it is still a really good storyline though and I look forward to the next book.
